Published formulas, stated plainly
Health calculators are only as good as the research behind them, so each tool here names the equation it uses and where it came from. The BMI calculator uses the World Health Organization's adult cut-offs. The calorie calculator uses Mifflin-St Jeor, which the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics found to be the most reliable predictive equation for resting energy expenditure.
Your measurements stay yours
Height, weight, age and activity level are entered and calculated in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored, and there is no account to create. Health data is among the most sensitive information a person has, and the safest way to handle it is not to receive it at all.
What these tools cannot do
Every equation here describes population averages. None of them can see your body composition, your medical history, your medication or your circumstances. A BMI in the overweight range means something quite different for a powerlifter than for a sedentary office worker, and neither is diagnosed by a number.
Use these as a starting point for a conversation, not as a substitute for one. Anything that would change how you eat, train or medicate belongs with a doctor or a registered dietitian.
